Hi! I'm Mariia Katsala, a web developer and software engineer based in Germany. I'm currently pursuing a Master's degree in Web Engineering at the Technical University of Chemnitz, where I focus on building modern, scalable, and user-centered web applications.

Background

Originally from Kharkiv, Ukraine, I hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering from the National Technical University “Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute”. Throughout my academic and professional journey, I've gained experience in full-stack development as well as data-oriented projects, which shaped my analytical and problem-solving mindset.

What I Do

I specialize in building modern web applications with a strong focus on clean architecture and intuitive user interfaces. I enjoy turning complex ideas into elegant digital solutions. My technical stack includes TypeScript, Javascript, React, Next.js, Node.js, MongoDB and experience with cloud-based services.

Beyond Code

Outside of development, I enjoy learning new languages, exploring technologies, and integrating in life and culture in Germany. Additionally, I am an active open water swimmer and a member of the Erzgebirge swim team. Every summer I compete in events across Germany and Europe. Competitive sports have strengthened my discipline, endurance, and goal-oriented mindset.
